Real cheat-engine power allows u to do almost anything. U dont need to chose A or B, u simply create these options.
Cheat Engine is not a valid substitute for real, built-in cheats.
Nailed what I was going to say. Basically, the only people who think that Cheat Engine can do everything and that it is a valid substitute for a dev console or hell, even modding capabilities are the same people who don't actually understand how to use it or its limitations, and just assume "oh well it can do anything!"
Try to implement something like say, an inventory and item editor with a full dynamic GUI entirely in CE for example, and tell me how it goes. I'll give you a hint: it's not feasable or practical.
CE's usefulness in that respect ends once you've found the addresses and pointers you need. After that, it's off to an actual programming language to do the rest.
CE is not the end-all be-all of game hacking and cheating and the people who think it is are just ignorant.
Inventory editor is basicaly hex editing. You know what that is, right? Didnt expected this conversation gona be so fun with illiterate beings.
How you play your games is your business, but you can't deny how silly this seems.
I rarely ever play with cheats, but my old man does almost always. He just loves to relax with god mode and infinite ammo and that's a luxury almost not a single game after 2006 offers out of the box.
Just stop before you embarrass yourself even further. You're literally proving my point for me.
Hex editing literally has absolutely nothing to do with this conversation. If you think that an inventory editor is "basically hex editing" you really have no idea what you're talking about.
Also, learn some basic spelling and grammar before you insult others for being illiterate. It just makes you look foolish.
This is a perfectly valid way to play your singleplayer game, but nowadays most people can't stand the thought of you cheating in a singleplayer game, which is both hilarious and stupid at the same time on so many different levels.
But yeah alt tabbing and making cheats isnt as easy as a built in UI cheat menu, its worth noting they DID add in a cheat menu to the first one they even have the UI for it and even a mod menu in the first game.
However due to the way the game is scripted the individual weapons entire code/scripting is transferred and imported through save files throughout the levels. So if you use the working level cheats in the semi-functional cheat menu its impossible to add weapons to a level or to the character... because the code for the earlier weapons is in the other levels.. (Ex: the pistol being still in the first level because it wasnt imported through a save to the new one?) @.@... if you dont/cant understand that dont bother it is confusing as all hell. I presumed the devs themselves couldnt figure a way to get weapon cheats to work so they abandoned the idea altogether in the dx11 update.
I even went and bothered to make an entire modding kit for shadow warrior that would allow customization of all the weapons and levels and it has all the decompiled scripts working perfectly. But i couldnt get any response from any devs to get any sort of permission to upload it so i never did, just uploaded modded saves to start the game with the full nobitsura kage and all weapons & stuff since that doesnt really share any game code.
Yeah, in this case, it's a prime example of saving script state in the save games is a big problem for moddability. But at the same time I doubt they really had planned moddability in the first place, even though I do recall them saying at some point they did want to release their toolset. Don't quote me on that though.
To be honest, if that's what it is, then I could care less about their opinion. Go back to your multiplayer games where cheating actually makes sense to be frowned upon and let those who want to play their singleplayer games however they so choose do so in peace.
You bet your ass I was annoyed and stopped playing something like The Division because of cheaters, they literally ruined the game. Just because cheaters ruined a game like that for me doesn't mean I automatically hate all cheats ever and go on a personal vendetta on message boards and forums to attack everyone I see cheating. There's a very distinct difference between cheating in singleplayer and multiplayer games, Even the Cheat Engine forums frown upon any discussion or work related to multiplayer games and cheats, because they understand this difference. It's really not that difficult to grasp.
Oh noes, no more arguments, lets start grammar nazi...
Looks like pointless discussion with wannabe cool kid with zero knowledge beyond "type few letters ingame to be immortal". Another example of "when everything fails, start grammar nazi".
Hope u 2 guys knows atleast 3 languages fluently when u decides to be ♥♥♥♥♥ about others language. I will leave u in your crying for buildin cheats cuz u are obviously too lazy to work atleaast abit to make it your way on your own.
