Stinging ____ Of Fluke = Crit dmg + crit chance, ideal for melee weapons (they don't crit on HS) with 110+ mod you can break the 1k DPS with swords.
There are no physical immunes so why bother with Elemental damage?
Either to exploit the weakness of your enemies, or because it's slightly more effective depending on how strong the elemental effect is.
It's definitely worthwhile to use elemental damage against physical resist enemies, resists cause a large loss in DPS.
IMO phys resist isn't enough. I was fooling around in free roam and I crit for ~500 damage on phys res mobs with an 819 dps Orochi. Even on Insane P4 enemies melt.
Edit: On another note, the 100% Force Slash on attack makes guns useless so there is another aspect of gameplay that can totally be ignored. Add some life drain and you're essentially invincible.
All of them.
There is no huge disadvantage to it other than some enemies come with elemental resistances, plus you eventually start hitting physical (non-elemental) damage resistant and IMMUNE enemies. You want to jack up that elemental damage to as high of a percent as possible. There are no exceptions to the rule except for the boss fight with Zilla's mech since it's literally the only point in the game where physical damage is his one weakness, everything else is weaker to elemental.
Aside from that, critical chance paired with critical damage increases make for a deadly combination, especially on things like rail guns. I got a rail gun to do ~2.2k damage on a crit and between 700 and 1k on most normal shots. Also, sometimes it's better to prioritize burst damage on a weapon over DPS. A weapon with 600 burst damage is going to kill something faster than a weapon with 300 DPS most of the time. DPS is more for crowd control, the big guys crumble under burst.
is electricity really the best? Ive been playing more on ice and fire since i got more really high drops for those.
