"must have" skills for insane mode?
Only level 15ish I think, but did the chi one. Any other suggested skills to get early on to help out? Some enemies hit me EXTREMELY hard since I do like melee, so not really sure if the HP is worth it or not if I get further mitigation stuff down the line.

Just go in over level 30 and you should be fine. I've died three times on insane. Twice because I got trapped in a corner and couldn't get out. Once because I dashed off a cliff.

My only real suggestion is max out your Chi regen. I abuse the vanish and healing abilities.

Yeah I did chi regen, anything else really necessary? I do get trapped or hit INSANELY hueuheuhe.. hard sometimes. Since I'm pretty much using a crit build with the chainsaw sword.
I'd suggest you keep your melee weapons with different element abilities. I'd also suggest that you keep all of your other weapons with varying element abilities too. I have the Springchester gause rifle as my main-long range weapon. It does over 500 damage per shot, but is a bit slow in the reload. I also have a rocket that does over 1k per shot and a minigun that gets more accurate as you shoot (go figure, right?) All of them have different elemental abilities. I usually go as much pure damage as I can, but those ruins/whatever are really hard for me to find and when i find them, they tend to be weak. My best one right now does 28% more damage. Not to big/small enemies, just pure damage.

Be careful not to put a ruin/whatever on that increases your miss chance on a weapon that is already inaccurate. Save those that increase the miss chance and put them on something that can't miss (a sword for instance. The ruin/whatever that does 28% more damage increases my miss chance by 40%, but because it's on a sword, the miss chance is canceled out.)

I'd suggest abusing the vanish power. Use it to run and heal when outnumbered.

Depending on where you are in the story, this next suggestion may be a spoiler; **** Use the sword you get from Hoji's grave. it has something like a 13% vanish chance for me. I've been able to use the vanish ability, do the spinny attack, get the 13% chance to help me vanish again then redo the spinny attack.

The only real time I don't use a sword is when I'm fighting a boss. I just find out it's weakness, get a gun that has that as it's elemental bonus and shoot it until it dies. A bit cheap, i know, but hey! It works.

Basicly, once you get access to high grade gem crafting go for +15% crit +125%+ crit damage, put 3 of them in the blade of exile balance armor/gear for vanish damage/melee damage and leach life/regen and you should see near or over 1000 dps.

*i have personally seen 4000 dmg crits on the Exile*

You can also do the same for the arm of orochi and get less crit power but utility in the amazing force slashs it creates, but i say why choose, i use both myself.

It does however make even 4 player insane difficulty like easy mode tho (shrugs)

PS: Even if they are physical resist, you will still out dps a elemental build.
I will admit, in Normal and Hard, I only died because I was an idiot and dashed off of cliffs or suicided by accident, but I was running DPS builds. I swiched up to elemental to take advantage of the enemies weaknesses for insanity. Like I said, I've died twice because I was trapped and once because I dashed off a cliff on insanity. It feels easy to me to be honest.

4000 dmg crits... I find that a little hard to believe, but not outside the realm of possibilty. I'll admit, after a while I stop lookin at the loot I pick up. It becomes too hard to manage and i either sell them all or just stash it in the junk file until I can sell them all.

4k is the highest i have seen on my build, on an non physical resist orochi cybersoldier in insane difficulty co-op, was on a dash spin, into shadow mode while invisable, then fully charged dashing attack, i normally see 2500 to 3000 on my higher end crits. that is with +50% wep dmg, and a 38% crit chance 370% crit damage + 40% shadow dmg +90% invisable dmg.

for easy mode, second chance + reincarnation amulet. You never die, because you can't. When you're about to, you have +500% damage. (plus there's a bug rn to give you infinite second chance time lmao)
Eightyeye Oct 17, 2016 @ 6:00pm
yeah i did that but you can really get yourself in trouble with it (think infinite death bug) if you kill everything nearby and get stuck in the loop.

PS: also second chance does not work in co-op as client (another bug)

RichRizz, if you want someone to go in with you, I'll help out for a bit. I wanted to test out the co-op anyway.

Just anything related to damage, IMO. Shadow fury, the elemental effect powers, and maybe vanish if you're a melee character. Items are much more important.

I was struggling a bit for the first "big boss" fight, I had to use vanish alot but now I unlocked gem crafting. Trying to get crit chance and crit damage on a gem since that's how I build w/ melee. And if anyone wants to coop feel free to add me.

That's right, the stinging aspects of fluke are how you achieve real ultimate power in the game.
