Are the secrets just too hidden, or why i don't find em in a co-op game?

Maybe because you're moving along too fast. They're secrets, they're out of the way, hidden below and above you as well as behind walls that look solid sometimes.

Are there any in game hints as to where they are? Like sounds or flickering false walls or anything? Haven't found any myself, but then I've only been playing for a couple hours.

There is two types of secrets I found, one is a cave covered with vines orher is cave covered with bolders that you have to break.

If you see a symbol that looks like the S-shaped dragon, that tells you there's a secret nearby.

Sometimes it's an invisible wall (or path behind vines/lights/etc), sometimes you have to smash a rock wall with Chi Blast, sometimes it's just an awkward out of the way spot.

In Zilla city for example, there's a section with a series of stairs going up. On the ground floor, there's some trash and a jukebox. The light wall next to the jukebox can be walked through.

So i should move slower(and i do it for loot anyway) and check walls etc?

I'd say just keep an eye out. If you're taking the time to check every wall, you'll be going at it a damn long time. lol
Also using Vanish may help you with locating secrets too since its highlight the object if its close and hidden behind an object.

1. Look at / hit the walls on the caves (except a noticeable wall of wood, I think I never had a breakable wall outside the caves)
2. Look behind the waterfalls
3. Alway look down in the edges of the map, mainly where you can spot a bridge (even broken)
4. Look if you can go behind the "wall flowers" (don't know how to translate this... a lot of plants covering a wall)
5. Try to walk through the doors
6. Take a look between the walls and the houses when there's a little space just large enough to go.
7. Look in the bushes
8. Take a little more time to look around specifics things like buddha statues, objectives...
9. Always look behind things, like a tree in a corner, behind some pipes...on a roof...
10. Of course, where you see the Shadow Warrior 2 logo, there's a secret.

In 60+ hours of game play I have found only 12.

There's a guide. The problem is that the areas are randomly generated from set pieces and you can literally generate a map without the set piece that contains the secret. This means you might have to replay the same area and hope you get the correct layout to spawn your secret. You could potentially locate the same secrets multiple times, but they're only worth money after the first.
