And there's no such thing SJW. It's just our ♥♥♥♥♥♥ culture. If you read a little history of human civilization you will know.
>don't review games
>review the name of the character and how offensive the humor is to me
>doesn't matter that offensive is subjective, if I don't like it nobody does
gameplay doesn't matter in this video game.
this'd be the ultimate ♥♥♥♥ post if it wasn't frighteningly accurate as to what is going through that idiot's head.
Next, we'll find he thought Doom was too satanic and the entrails too intestinal for children, and Duke Nukem was sexist.
What does it take to vote that reviewer off the island?
I mean... it's supposed to be unabashedly crass and annoying, to the point that people in the game call him out on it consistently. That's the character. You're going to be fine with him cutting people into small bits literally, but offended that he says the f-bomb without remorse in the game?
Lo Wang's repeatedly called an unfeeling idiot. It's hyper-violent in the perspective of an immature sociopath
As for the humor, the previous Shadow Warrior game was better (and the original was awesome). Sure, SW2 is still funny, but not as funny.
Its not a private blog of a private person. Thousands of people read that sheet and make their minds based on it.
So, reviewers can not openly express their opinion because PCG is a public platform? The game still got a pretty good score. PCG has every right to say whatever they please, openly. That includes the reviewers.
I can't say I agree with everything in the review but like with all reviews it's just one factor when deciding to buy a game. If someone chooses to buy or not buy only based on that single review, so be it.
Duke nukem forever - 80
Shadow Warrior 2 - 78
Thing is, reviews are supposed to be unbiased. They're supposed to be an analytical look at a product and how well it delivered what it was supposed to. Whether or not the reviewer personally enjoys it is irrelevant.
Granted, most "professional" reviews are just bought these days anyway. A game company bases how much ad space (the key income of sites and magazines) they will buy on what sort of review scores their games get. If they're not happy with the reviews they're getting, they'll pull their ads, which means the reviewers lose a hell of a lot of money.
I've had editors in the past hand me a game and tell me that I'm to review it and it needs to score a 7 or higher out of 10. Whether or not the game deserves the score is irrelevant, I'm being paid to say good things about the game, because the devs paid for that good press. Now, I will not lie about a game. If I give the game a run through and it's simply not deserving of the score that I'm told to give it, I go to my editor and tell them that. If they want someone else to do it, fine, but I won't give a crap game a good score that it doesn't deserve.
Regardless, SW 2 is great and shows what's possible when a dev puts the pc platform first. I went back and played SW1 and the graphical upgrade was much starker than I at first believed, it's obvious FWH's put some serious work in improving not just the looks but how well it runs.
Either way, I just wanted this reviewer to be noted, so the next time he comes out with poorly researched review or even one that docks a game for not conforming with his social or moral views people will at least be informed that it's a pattern of his.
