FOV Stretches Image?
Setting the FOV above 80 seems to cause the image on the right and left sides of the screen to go a little fish eye (stretches the image)??

Surely this isn't by design, as setting the FOV to 100 causes the viewmodel to break further in cutscenes and with some in-game animations...

And what did you expect if you set it so high. It is vertical FOV not horizontal!
For a 2560x1440 resolution vertical FOV 59 is 90 FOV horizontal.
Use this http://www.rjdown.co.uk/projects/bfbc2/fovcalculator.php to calculate your desired horizontal FOV...

Thanks, very useful! I always love to set the FOV at maximum even at 1920 x 1080 resolution, and sometimes the value is vertical and gives me very bad fish eye image, now I know this one should stat at 59

....yeah lower on ultra wide screen !

80 is good for me at 2560x1080

Horizontal field of view varies depending on the aspect ratio of the screen whereas vertical fov is constant.

eww this FOV is terrible compared to horizontal.. at least on 16:9.

Yes... yes it is... though typically most FOV below 120 doesn't cause the image viewable by the player to break.

Fish eye effect is how it works. Cutscenes are a side effect of having such a wide range of FOV option. I'm using 95 and no issues so far.

...at 1080p 95 does the same thing. Mostly causes stretching on the left side of the screen.

You say "59 = 90 FOV" yet in this case it barely feels like it's 65-70 FOV

the FOV itself is not that noticeable/wide it seems, all it does is stretch everything vertical rather than the horizontal which is a lot better, at least appearance-wise.
guess i can't complain, better than having a game with no FOV option i suppose.
