Xbox 360 controller not working correctly
WHen I start the game, the controller works fine, then when I enter any menu the controller starts messing up. Navigation becomes impossible and then when I exit the menu back to the title screen the controller becomes unresponsive. Any ideas?

Might be something to do with the latest Steam update. Did you find a fix at all? My controller is all over the place, none of the mappings are doing what they should.

nope, nothing. During gameplay it's fine. Even in the menus for thecharacter. Things like skills, weapons....etcall work fine but as soon as I touch settings the controller spazes out and then stops working. Then I have to use the mouse to navigate but once back in game it works fine. It's a bit weird.

People saying they've pushed a new update and the issue should be fixed, I'm not home to test it.

No idea tbh, Windows Creator updates screwed my computer so I've not had a chance to check Steam.

Edit - sounds like it's just the Beta that's been fixed.

Just a suggestion it might work.
Go to "Controller configuration" in the steam menu for Shadow Warrior 2
On the screen that appears showing your controller click on "browse configs"
On this screen choose "Templates" from the left
Choose the "gamepad" profile
Then click "apply config"

Reload the game and see if has improved things.

They updated steam a few months ago and it seems to have mucked about with Xbox controller support in games with native support when you have the steam controller support active.
I've run into it in Space Hulk:Deathwing and Strike Vector Ex and now Shadow Warrior 2.
Enabling this profile seems to fix it.
Mostly it shows as disabling the right thumbstick which I know is not what you are describing, so I'm not sure if it will fix your problem.

I eventually got mine working, it seemed to be a combination of needing to enable Steam overlay on my host PC (I use in-home streaming) and installing the old Xbox 360 Wireless Adaptor driver. See this thread http://steamcommunity.com/groups/homestream/discussions/0/1457328927835749848/

Unfortunately, there was another user in there with an Xbox One controller who has tried everything and still can't get his to work.
Sorry to revive this thread but it's something that never was fixed. I trieed with wireless xbox 360/one controllers and wiered. Tried everything in this thread and it's still an issue. It sucks because I just got back into playing this game :-/
