two questions

1. how to i restart a combat that has already started and it goes bad for me?

2. why and how you know if you move/attack first than the enemies? for me is random, and prevents me from make any sort of strategy (i am neither always moving first nor always moving last)

Maybe you were dealing with "Quick" creatures.
