Unplayable on the Steam Deck - Unfortunately
Just a quick note that I hope the developer might see and maybe they can fix whatever the issue is.

I tried testing this game on the Steam Deck before and I had problems. When I saw that it was recently updated I thought I would give it another try. At first, it looked like the game was going to work.

But then the game kept freezing in different spots, making the game Unplayable. Which is a shame since it looks great on the Steam Deck and everything is easy to read.

I posted a video of the initial game play which also shows the freezes that kept me from continuing the game. Again, it would be awesome if the developer sees this and can easily figure out what might be happening.

If so, I am more than happy to try the game again on the Steam Deck and I will replace the current video with one showing that it is at least Playable.

Hi there - thanks for testing the game on the Steam deck!

Sadly we have no plans to update Warlock for Steam. The game was built in an old version of Unity and most of the coding team are no longer with Tin Man Games. This means that it would likely be very costly as updating the game to the latest version of Unity would probably break a lot of systems and any new programmers would need to familiarise themselves with the codebase. As the game is now well over six years old, sales these days are a lot smaller than they used to be and wouldn't make enough money to cover costs.

You mentioned that the game updated on your deck. Not sure what the update was on your system as we've not updated the game for a number of years.

Thanks for your response and I completely understand!

I don't know why the download update appeared on my Steam Deck and I don't know why the game performed differently from the last time I had checked it.

I suppose it could have something to do with Proton being updated to a newer version or something.

Very strange.

But thanks for following up!

I've only played this on my steam deck for a few hours and have only had occasional audio static in some parts
