Hangs when launching space battle in Tutorial 3 - any fixes?

Hi All,

I've done tutorial 1 and 2 but on the 3rd tutorial I hang at the "launching" screen after you move your fleet into orbit around Kashyyyk. I don't see a start button and I if alt-tab and return to the game the screen is white.

Running Win7x64 SP 1, core i5 2500k, GTX 670, 8GB 1600Mhz RAM

Admittedly i've not tried the tutorials as i find them a bit boring, it also helps that i've played the game in the past so some vague memories of it remain :)

I may give them a go however just to check it out, i also use win 7x64, but i have an ati 6850 and a core2 quad 2.8ghz, 4gig ram ddr2

I played it a while back as well but I remember space battles being a bit tricky so this is the one tutorial I'd really like to see working :)

If anyone gets it working please post here, going to try the usual compatability mode stuff next

No good, setting the desktop compositon or disabling dpi scaling has no effect and setting administrator mode or compatability mode results in a runtime error. It seems to me that the UI is just missing the launch button from the mission

Training mission 3 works for me, i move in the fleet, tutorial officer gives his spiel, then im in a space combat scenario which i completed.

Hrm, did you adjust any compatability options? Were you waiting a long time for the space combat scenario to load? Where we seem to be getting stuck is just as the combat scenario launch button should show up

Could you post your in-game settings so that I can try to copy them to see if that helps?

In game i've pretty much got everything maxed out, other than its not allowing EAX modes and im using miles positional audio. Probably because i dont have the alchemy software installed. I played it direct from the steam icon, no tweaks. I'm wondering if it might be down to ati and nvidia cards maybe? A little glitching for the nvidia in that particular area only?

The space combat loaded pretty quick, the only delay being having to hear through the briefing and not being able to skip it.

Youre not missing too much. You follow a shuttle with some cruisers and have to destroy a frigate. It suggests attacking the guns but it doesnt make much of a difference while shields are up. Then you get some reinforcements, two small star destroyers and a couple of tie and bomber squadrons and destroy a small space base.

Eventually I just skipped the tutorial, if you do the single player campaign as rebels your second mission is in space anyway. It's pretty straightforward, I was thinking of another star wars rts where the space battles were 3d and you could tilt and pan and do all kinds of weird stuff

Old cookie, but anyway... same happened to me, and after all this time google still wasn't any help. I tried one thing and I was lucky with that. Solution is to run game in windowed mode. Add '-windowed' to launch options of game. Hope this helps.

Just dropped in to say that I'm having this same issue, as well.
