this or galactic battlegrounds
gbattlegrounds was my childhood and i want to play it again, however i cant find it anywhere. is this game like it?

no it isn't, SWGB was based off of the age of empires 2 engine
base building, resource management, advancing through the ages

this game is a 3rd game with more set like bases iirc, i'd suggest looking up youtube gameplay videos

alright thanks. i will probably pick this up any way and their are always torrents for sw:gb

that was an awesome game, I wish they would release an HD version like they did with aoe2
the AI just sucked so much....

this is like any other game out there just in speace you move units on a battle field and in space on maps plus you move units on planets and in space

In some ways its superior to Galactic Battlegrounds, in some ways it isn't. I too love GB, but love this one, too.

in this game i love only the space battles.
the grounds battles, star wars battlegrouns is more fun.

SW GB saga is based on Age of Empire 2 The Conquerors Expansion.

god i hope the bring SW GB to steam, i remember getting it for xmas so many years ago, but untell then this game is probibly the closest thing u will get to a starwars rts game. and this game is badass in its own ways. i hope they make a SWGB HD version

In a way, EAW gold is the same as GB. But EAW has the little things that make it a better game over all.

EAW is a much duller experience in comparison. Would love an HD, or even just a Steam release of GB.

Galactic Battlegrounds honestly did some things a lot better than EAW, admittedly partially because it did less things overall.

Having the Clone Wars era stuff was nice too, although I personally would have preferred the game without Wookiees as a race. Just felt like a poor fit.
