STAR WARS™ Empire at War: Gold Pack

How do I stop enemies from infiltrating my planet guarded by several star destroyers?
Early in the game, I managed to conquer a "red" rebel planet.
I left several star destroyers (the first ones available to the empire) to guard the planet.

However, suddenly, I get the message "rebels are approaching the planet" and found the planet invaded by dirty rebel scums. I found this odd, since there was no space battle. I can only assume that rebels can bypass them.

So, is there a way to prevent the rebels from bypassing and force them to fight my fleet first? Or is the only option "leave a planet well guarded by ground trooops"?

Hey

I would just guard all my planets with a basic garrison. Some infantry and vehicle platoons. Don't forget to buy Turbolaser-Towers for your more important planets.
Try to build as many defensive structures as possible during a ground battle. Anti-Infantry towers near landing-zones to slow the enemy offensive down.

Cheers

I didnt find a way but i know how they keep doing it. They use their stealt units (C3po/r2 or han and chewie) along with some artillary. but that is the strengt of the rebellion because their ships are toast so yes that is the only option in my eyes

The Rebels have the ability to raid planets which allow them to stealth attack. It's always better to have few troops on your planets , Stormtroopers or Walkers are a good option because they are cheap.Always try to have Turrets or a shield on you important planets.

But they can't penetrate deeper than 1 jump, right?

As long as their fleet is hidden, they can raid every planet visible to them

I'm not sure, but I think they can penetrate anywhere. Their Raid fleets fall under the same rules as Probe Droids and Bounty Hunters.

However! The Rebels' stealthy raid fleets are limited to 3 units maximum.
On top of which, your buildings will spawn temporary units during a battle (Barracks spawn stormtroopers, Light factory spawns AT-ST, etc), so you have some advantages.

Frankly, even a tiny garrison can handle a Rebel raid. A single TIE Mauler unit will cripple their infantry, and AT-STs will take out their light vehicles. Or even just leaving a single AT-AT, which will cripple almost anything they throw at you.

(Frankly, that's also what the anti-infantry turrets and Turbolaser Towers are for. They'll shred those Rebel units almost instantly.)
Once you kill all 1-3 units the Rebels send, you win.

The whole point of their raids is to soften your defenses, and to sabotage your buildings. After all, think what would happen if they knock out an AT-AT factory (which take forever to build)?

Moral of the story. Have one or two factories/barracks on the planet on every planet. Especially mining planets.
