problem graphics
I am using a Dell laptop that has an integrated Intel HD 4000 chip and a Nvidia GT 650M. Before I started the game, I went into my Nvidia control panel and set it so that the game always uses the 650 (I do this to all of my games, such as Arma III and some others, and it always works).

When I started the game, I noticed that my water slider and shader slider wouldn't max out, and the game wouldn't default to max graphics. I thought this was odd, but didn't think anything of it until I experienced video stuttering in the game, which shouldn't have been happening. After looking back in the options menu, I noticed the game was still using the integrated Intel chip, and not the 650.

Has anyone else out there experienced this problem, and if so, have you found a solution? Hopefully if this gets enough attention a developer or something can help out.

Thanks in advance to those who help

I have experienced this as well, haven't found a fix as of yet.

From: http://forums.filefront.com/sw-eaw-modding-mapping-editing/450637-alpha-channel-issues-3.html

The issue is your shader level. If you look in Advanced Video Options you'll see that the Shader slider is at minimum. Set it higher. If it auto resets to minimum then it's likely a gfx card issue.

Make sure your dedicated NVidia/AMD gfx card (not your integrated Intel/AMD gfx) is selected and used when running the game (generally found in gfx card control panel or some similar application). If that fails then we'll simply edit the registry as follows.

Open the start menu and search for regedit then browse to the following locations and set the values as shown below.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Petroglyph\StarWars\Pro files\Profile0\Player]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Petroglyph\StarWars FOC\Profiles\Profile0\Player]

Double click "ShaderDetail" and then select Decimal as your base and enter 3. If your "WaterDetail" slider also reset to min you can select it and enter 2 (in Decimal base) as well.

Hope the above is clear and helpful.

Thanks, i had tried that already but doesn t work for me. I think the problem its that the graphics cards for laptops are not supported in this game. Shame.

I can play on my laptop no sweat so I'm not entirely sure what the issue is but you can still edit the registry.

Yeah, i tried already editing the registry like you said before, but then it doesn t change anything at all. Thanks anyway.

I have found a solution. Go to
SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Star Wars Empire at War/GameData and right click on sweaw.exe or
SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Star Wars Empire at War/corruption and right click on
swfoc.exe
and select-"Launch with graphic procesor" and click on "change default graphic procesor
and then in the Nvidia control panel click on "add" then Browse and search for the
SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Star Wars Empire at War/GameData sweaw.exe or
SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Star Wars Empire at War/corruption
swfoc.exe
then choose the prefered graphic procesor and select nvidia
The problem is that when the game came out, the Intel processors didn't have the capability for those graphics options, actual processors (+6th I think) have it, just go to regedit
