Using 3ds Max 2021 to import Alo
Just recently downloaded 3ds Max as well as the Alo importer and exporter but it seems that the installation process is outdated given I'm using the latest system of 3ds. If anyone knows how to install the Alo to this newer system that would be great!

The ALO importer by Mike Lankamp is only supported by 3D Studio Max 6, 8, 9 and 2013 and can be found here: https://modtools.petrolution.net/tools/AloImporter.

The ALO exporter by Petroglyph is only supported by 3D Studio Max 6, 8, and 9 and can be found here: https://modtools.petrolution.net/tools/AloExporter.

3D Studio Max 9 is not to be confused with 3D Studio Max 2009, these are two completely different versions!

If you want to import/export ALO in a modern 3D design software, you'll need to use Blender 2.82 and the plugin found here: https://github.com/Gaukler/Blender-ALAMO-Plugin. This Blender plugin is in perpetual beta and not officially supported, but from what I have heard it is mostly stable for general purposes. I have no personal experience with Blender or the Blender Alamo tools so I cannot do much for you in that regard other than point you in the right direction.

Thanks for the info I seriously appreciate it! I couldnt find the older version of 3D Max 9 anywhere so I decided to use blender and it seems to be working perfectly with the plugin. Now I just need to learn how everything works so I can make the changes. Again thanks for all this info.
