Have you recently done something like install a new audio/video program, are running Win 10, or have imported a codec pack?
First, update your sound card's (chipset's) drivers. Do a complete reboot afterwards.
If you continue to have issues and letting Steam verify your local cache doesn't seem to help, be sure to reboot and/or completely exit (Tell the program to exit) Steam and then restart it, (to clear up issues Steam can have with its internal cache) then you need to search for codec issues with SW:EAW and you'll find some downloads to codecs that need to be replaced, since they often get overridden by Win10 (or not included in it) or get altered/overriden by many popular codec packs.
I am not running Windows 10, I have not installed any new udio/video program, and I have not imported a codec pack
How did you fix it? Someone else might be able to fix their own problem with your experience.
Are you blind?
Sorry, I got you mixed up with another poster.
There's no reason to be an ass about it, either.
And even if i was, theres no reason to comment on it.
I imagine that happens quite frequently...
:D :)
(I couldn't resist! Plus, it's given in good spirit. Feel free to flame back, in all fairness. But, know that there's no ill will meant on my part. I've just got a bit defensive regarding the Steam forums, in general. Best wishes.)
