Game wont open

every time i try to open the game it acts like it opens then goes back to the steam page

Here is the solution from an earlier post

So I believe that i've found a solution. Go into your SteamApps < Star Wars Empire At War folder and open your "corruption" folder. The game launches the swfoc .exe and the one that works is named StarWarsG. Simply switch the names of the files and steam now launches the game properly. The same applies for the base game: Switch sweaw and StarWars G and it'll run. Let me know if this works for any of you."

so this worked for me but everytime I open a mod it instantly crashes. I just wiped my pc and this is a fresh reinstall. I do not know why this is happening.

lmao I see this bug is still an issue hmm sad too considering the amount of time that I had invested into this game before they ruined it with the latest update. If you're looking for a close alternative to it try out Homeworld remastered collection they have a few decent star wars mods like the Warlords one that everyone seems to really like quite a bit.

Hey guys, I had the same issue and just went to folder containing the executable StarWarsG, says application, and right clicked, then ran as administrator. That seemed to work and I did the first tutorial. I then made a shortcut to it and placed it on the desktop. Works Each time. Youll have to do the same for Mission Pack. Hope this helps you.

yeah it worked but i can't use modes and the shortcut dosen't work as well so yeah my name and emblem show how i am right now
