Use Gameranger for hosting - though you are going to have to run mods directly - so make a backup of your corruption data folder and then copy the contents of ICW's Data folder found within Mods and integrate it with FoC's data.
I don't like how the Tunngle adapter is integrated, I don't use it.
How do the mods work normally? Do they use a launcher app that temporarily swaps files around? Or do they simply use another folder within the install and a command-line parameter to select them?
The second is how the mods are working normally. Usually you go and add a command line to run the mods, however that is impossible to do with Gameranger since it would require an FoC shortcut with a command line - which would play Empire at War and not Forces of Corruption.
The advantage of doing it this way, is that it doesn't require the host *and* joiners to set up command-lines correctly. The disadvantage, of course, is that it requires each mod to be explicitly supported.
Which of the EaW/FoC mods are actually popular (or at least designed) for multiplayer?
Thrawn's Revenge and Republic at War are probably the two most played mutliplayer mods.
Gameranger does not support them, no... but you can play them by installing them directly to your game's data folder.
We have successfully played the Republic at War mod through GameRanger. Thrawn's Revenge seems to be the only one giving us an issue.
