STAR WARS™ Empire at War: Gold Pack

zann strengths and weaknesses?
so the rebellion excels with starfighters, fast light vehicles and a variety of infantry. the empire has powerful capital ships that deploy weaker fighters coupled with powerful high end land vehicles...so what does zann and his mob of scum and villainy do well in?

Steam says you have over 70 Hours of playtime in Empire at War.. and yet are you asking what the Zann Consortium does well in?
- They have money all over the place. It starts with corruption, continues with the standard income and ends with the receipt of money by killing units.
- Like all their Ground buildings have shields which makes it simply impossible to win if you don't have enough firepower
- Like all their tanks have shields and can shoot through shields. Just spam canderous tanks and insta win.
- Did I mention that they get money for everything they are doing? It's hilarious.
- Their Ships can shoot through shields as well. The Rebellion and the Empire have their Concussion Missile Launcher and Torpedo Launcher.. but the Consortium has its Mass Drivers.
- Heck did I already mentioned they get freakin money? I mean their Palace is like 3 Mining Facilities in one. With the Difference that the Palace has more Health, Shields and not to mention is far more valuable than a Mining Facility in any way possible (except for it's price since a Palace cost 4 times the amount of credits that a Mining Facility does. But did I already mentioned that they are getting a such ridiculous amount of money that this price doesn't matter?)
- They have 2 kinds of Capital Ships: Those who I like and those who can destroy Stardestroyer with their huge guns.
- IG-88 can destroy the Death Star
- You can sabotage buildings so you can destroy the defense and invade.
- Their Saboteurs can be build in hundreds and not only that.. no they can invade a Planet. The Rebellion can do Raids with 2 Units.. the Consortium can do Raids as well: With hundreds of Units.

The Consortium is simpley overpowered.
The Zann Consortium units are a mix of the empires superior capital ships and ground units with the rebels superior fighters, bombers and corvettes.

Zann Consortium is literally the most powerful faction by a longshot. You can just spam capital ships to win on space and canderous tanks to win on land. No strategy at all lul

Not to mention they can build Capital Ships and Level 5 Space Stations from the very beginning since they don't have Tech Levels.

ive actually been playing for a whole heap longer but i wanted a different perspective on this. are they really THAT op?

their heroes can stealth invade planets... and literally take the entire planet with that single hero.

the primary feature of ZC, though, is OBVIOUSLY CORRUPTION

weakness- no interdictve ability to prevent retreat

Yeah the Zann Consortium is pretty STONK, At first they are pretty balanced (since they need to get their unit abilities from the Black market.) But OH GOD, once you get the ball rolling the ball never stops! Mostly due to their INSANE INCOME, You also get money from killing enemy units. (Note if you OWN Nal Hutta as the Rebels or Empire you get a bounty on any consortium units you kill.)

When you combine their special abilities they become almost untouchable without SERIOUS micro management. Not to mention though Corruption you can Line of sight and Intel on every planet (if its corrupted which will be purged by the AI sometimes) and once the planet IS corrupted you can Sabotage enemy buildings. You can also MOVE though enemy territory at the cost of money (to bribe the port authority i guess) if those systems are corrupted.

The Consortium Palace which costs 2000 credits a pop gives such a HUGE credit boost to a plant its NUTZ (im talking going from 100 ish to like several thousand!) And the reason for this is the Black Market tech is EXPENSIVE.....but once you buy it all you just stock pile credits like its no buddies business.

The Star Vipers can deploy buzz droid swarms which will instantly KO Fighters and bombers and given enough time can even kill Corvettes. The Skip Ray Blast Boats have Jamming which not only hides you from radar but JAMS any incoming Concussion Missiles or Proton Torpedos (they just kinda start spinning in confusion till they explode).

The Crusader Gunship Has POINT DEFENSE LAZERS which will ZAP any Concussion Missiles or Proton Torepdos out of existence. The Interceptor Frigate is armed with 1 turbo lazers on each side and a bow missile launcher and has the ability to continuously fire those missiles temporally.

The VENGEANCE Frigate is where things get SPICY, 2 turbo lazers and more importantly 2 MASS DRIVER CANNONS! With the trade off of having NO SHIELDS of its own. Mass Drivers ignore shields and fire rapidly so you can just BULLY enemy Frigates (not sure if the rebel super shields stop them but probably NOT) and even hit other shielded targets if you want. Its abilities are SELF DESTRUCT (if your cheeky about it its quite devastating) and Clock.

Then we get to the BIG BOYS, The Aggressor Class Destroyer and the Kedelbe class battleship. The Aggressor is the "space artillery" of the Zann Consortium and it is just BUSTED, the BIG Ion Cannon and Plasma Cannon on the front will rip apart anything it hits (the combined ion damage and plasma blast will heavy damage if not outright kill them), out right kill Corvettes. Its ability is SELF DESTRUCT (even deadlier then the Vengeance frigete since the ship is BIGGER)

Meanwhile the Kedelbe class Battleship, its a Capital ship not much more to say then that. Its got 2 engines, a Mass Driver on the Bow and between the engines and 4 turbo lazers AND a "special weapon", which is the ships ability SHIELD LEECH. Pretty self explanatory, it leeches enemy ships shields to power its own.

And thats just their space fleet, not including the Units you get from "Piracy" Corruption on certain planets (Acclimator, Tartan Patrol Cruiser, Tie Defenders, Broadside Cruiser, A wings, Nebulon Bs, Maurader Cruisers, and Corellian corvettes)

On the ground you have Grenadiers that can deal with enemy infantry and light armor (i think their grenades go though shields too), Merc Assult squads which once you get the Disrutor tech will kill ANY unit without a shield (their your Anti armor troops). You have Destroyer Droids which are good vs infantry and can switch to ion cannons to deal with shields. You can also get some "slave" units from Slavery corruption (Ewok suicide bombers, and then the Wookies, Sullestons, and Gungans), all of which act as BASIC infantry battlions (except the Ewoks)

Your Artillery has both normal missiles and "carbonite missiles" which slows enemy units to a crawl. Then you got the TANKS! The tank destroyer uses a Pulse cannon, which is can take down AT ATs according to the Unit Card. And the Canderous tanks are your AA and Primary armored unit. (both have shields, so unless you got Missile you have to get though the shield first) Also for DUMB reason despite being a "repulser lift" vehicle the Canderous tank can RUN OVER units.....i wonder if thats an oversight.

Then you have their TURRETS and Satallites. You get a MASS Driver turret for AA and armor (remember mass drivers ignore shields) and Proton Torpedo Launcher for EVERYTHING ELSE (the proton turret is kinda busted since if you build one near the initial landing zone it will sometime kill the first unit that LANDS such as storm troopers thus resulting in a INSTANT win.) As for Satellite defense you have Proton Cannons for fighters and corvettes and a basic missile turret AND a Jammer that prevents missiles in a HUGE radius. (you can park like 4 ISDs in said area).

Their heros are all STEALTH units so is the Defiler (your corruption agent). Zann can straight up BRIBE enemy units to your side no questions asked, Uri Fen will murder Infantry, you have a Night sister that can summon a RANKOR and has life drain, IG-88 and Bosk the bounty hunter (hes kinda like Boba Fett)

Zann has his own Special Aggressor class in space which has Clock and Over charge (like those BIG GUNS didn't do enough damage already), IG 88 can Debuff ships similar to the Sundered Heart, Bosk has jamming.

Oh and did i mention your Space SUPER WEAPON is built on your lvl 3 and up space stations (A Plasma Cannon), Technically a weakness instead of the weapon being on the PLANET but if you know how the AI works its no problem.

Quick and easy money making abilities, a spaceship that is literally a massive flying gun that devastates space stations and big ships, Ig88, one of zanns heroes, can blow up the empires death star if he is on the same planet as it, grenadiers that act as anti infantry, and canderous assault tanks that act as anti anything.

They're really OP in galactic conquest but in skirmish they're fairly predictable and vulnerable to more broken tactics like Rebel Corellian warship spam.
