game keeps crashing to desktop

try disabling the main game update i was able to play some mods like absolute chaos and alliance rebellion and ssd

same here - it happens when saving or loading, not randomly but I don't know what triggers it. most annoyingly, it crashes the moment I am about to defeat the death star. has happened (3 times + counting) now. unlike the other crashes, there's no way to move past this point in the game without the battle resolving, rendering the core campaign useless

edit: this is the vanilla, no mods base game of EAW.

I have been having the same problem on base/vanilla FOC. I get tons of desktop crashes. I can't even do corruption missions on GQ because it just crashes right to desktop. I'm able to play some mods to some extent but even they get crashes now.

I'm also getting the FOC crashes, is there any kind of fix known for this?

I'm having this issue with the "Awakening of the Rebellion 2.8.2: Commencing Ground Assault" mod. I also play the "Republic at War" mod, and have not had nearly as many crashes. I even tried turning all graphics settings down to bare minimums, and still nothing.

I'm having the same issue. It will either crash or when I try to load a mod it won't load.

Are you continuing saves which you made before the patch? In my personal experience the update isn't save game compatible, and starting a new game solved all the crash issues I was having except the corruption mission on Corellia, which the devs are aware is bugged (playing vanilla/FOC)

no, but this is interesting! thank you for sharing. trouble for me is this would require replaying the entire mission which is an unpleasant thought rn. turns a fun (semi necessary) distraction into a slog i have to dedicate attention to...

Same here, it gets to the point that even when i just open a mod, it crashes instantly, I was playing through a campaign, oh, crash, i tried opening my save, oh, crash

This just started happening to me today. It crashes right after I finish a GC battle. As soon as the battle ends, and the losing team retreats, it shows the ships leaving the system, and then "crash". It's happened twice in a row now. I've had no problems playing this game since I first dl'd it, and now it's unplayable. Wth?

I know this is a bit different from what others are describing, but it seems like the same issue.

Does this happen to anyone else, the game completely crashing at the end of a battle, just after it shows the losing team's ships retreating, and the screen showing each teams losses in the battle?

I was playing a FOC saved game, completely vanilla, I don't even have any mods dl'd.
