another swfoc problem

i wanted to play swfoc with mods only it needed update 1.05
I downloaded it but couldn't install it because the installer couldn't find sweaw
I found somewhere that I should have installed 2GB Ram and MP Lobby update
I downloaded it but there was a problem here
Error with message "unable to write to installation folder Update failed"
Any idea how I could finally start up swfoc?
(I know my English is far from good)

The following guide was meant to start forces of corruption with mods. If you do not set any starting options it will start forces of corruption as you want. hope you can solve

unfortunately it didn't work
swfoc says that i still need update 1.05 to launch it

patches only work for the non steam version.

Ok, maybe you have then messed up with the game files a bit :p It would be better to start a clean installation of the folder as detailed in this thread.

Sometimes even when you uninstall some files stay hidden in the game folder unless you remove them by hand. In the guide I suggested to the other user he managed to solve performing a clean installation. I suppose the game asks you for version 1.05 because you have mixed steam version with the cd version files.
Try a clean installation verifying steam game cache and then give feedback.

I did everything according to the guide and still the same problem
