But didn't expect him to Enforce the Rule of Two.
Canon reason way after the movie #1 (during EP1/2/3) - He became weaker over time because the force likes its balance, once he killed most of the jedi the force balanced itself and he lost a crapload of power
Canon reason way after the movie #2 - When the ability battle meditation "came out" Lucas decided Palpy had it. He used it constantly on his forces. So when he got so into corrupting Luke, he stopped using it, and his troops that were normally like clockwork turned into a mess because they were so used to his control in battle.
I definetly recommend those books, they're really good and Lowkey what i wish the sequel trilogies were about
Stormtrooper armor was a two part thing.
Part 1 - Synthweave inner wear that was blaster resistant (it could take 1-2 shots most of the time before the wearer got dead).
Part 2 - A hard outer shell that was extremely pierce and concussion resistant, meant to resist and in most cases stop slugthrowers outright. Arrows, spears, bolas, and stones would do jack to stormtroopers.
