Uncapping the memory for EaW

Hey folks,

I'm looking to try and un-cap EaW/Foc's memory cap so it is lag free for mods and I can run high unit battles seamlessly.

The problem is that I keep getting an error code 51 whenever I do the LAA/4gb patch on the exe file.

Any suggestions?

I also think i found a solution that makes the game run better

1) Go to Star Wars - Empire at War folder and enter the Gamedata folder of the game

2) In the Gamefolder left click the Sweaw.exe and choose Properties

3) Choose Compatibilty tab and then "Change Settings for all Users"

4) Remove the marked option that says 'Disable scaling on High DPI settings" (that should enable the Display scaling)

5) Click Apply and then run the game by clicking the Sweaw.exe (and not from the shortcut)

After that my game seems to run much better

I tried doing this in hopes I could fix my game crash and low fps however that box can unchecked as default. Anyone have other fixes?

The EaW:RE people recently said they have an LAA patch that works for steam, but there have been mixed reports about it. http://www.moddb.com/mods/empire-at-war-re

Other than that, there's not really anything else. Since steam did weird stuff to the game launcher, the usual fixes don't work.

The error you are getting is because you are trying to alter the .exe for the game, which Steam doesn't like. I am not sure how to fix this as Steam can be b*tch sometimes. If you find out, please let me know.
