Empire at War Remake
Good mod, the visuals are great but the gameplay is terrible for this one reason, the unit cap being set at 200. What were they thinking, the game engine can't handle more than a 45 cap let alone 100 or 200 especially with the amount of detail put into the models. I mean I could try editing the overall pop cap and editing each individual unit but why should I? What was the point in this high unit cap when the battle turns into a slide show even at around 60 vs 60 unit cap???

I've manually set mine for 300 and while the FPS obviously gets lower it's not "that" bad. Certainly not at the size you're talking. If your FPS is that low even with fleets that small you need to either look into tweaking your settings for performance and/or upgrading your hardware.

Get out of here with your settings and hardware crap, I have a i7 8700k with a gtx 1070 the game engine is old and the game runs like crap 10-20 fps isn't playable that's why anything more than 45 is absurd.

My game can very well run 120 and more pop caps. It`s probably an issue on your end.

The developer was talking about possibly making a light version of remake, so lower pop cap and more tactical focussed, that would be interesting.

Unless it's all fighter squadrons, I'm going to have to agree that it's likely an issue on your end. I'm running an i5-7300HQ with a GTX 1050 TI and I'm running fine unless there are literally 120 squadrons of fighters (not counting the massive spawns from the imps), or downing multiple capitols at once and the explosion blinds my entire gorram screen. Hell, hardpoint explosions tick me off because it has me thinking I've downed a victory and can move that flight group to a different target but nope, just the shield generator bursting. But yeah, noticeable performance issues don't happen unless the field is FULL full, and even then mostly with 1-pop units. It makes sense in that it creates a way to include the massive capitol ships without limiting your escort options horrendously.

Oh, one possible issue, because I had this when I first loaded it up, for some reason I had to go through nvidia control panel and manually change EAW to my card, it was set to my intel's integrated GPU for some weird reason. Actually, like half the games I play on steam had this issue.
