STAR WARS™ Empire at War: Gold Pack

republic Vs. Empire. who'd win in the war? (no force users)
I feel the republic wwould win as they have billions of troops that can acctually fire STRAIT! also, they have access to millions if not billions of acclimators, venators, and victory I- class star destroyers. and finally, they aren't completely HATED throuout the galaxy, unlike the empire. So, on a scale of 1 to 10, republic wins 5.5 times.

And if we go into legends territory it would look even worse for the Republic even with Mandators because now the Empire has those Ships that you mentioned and atleast 13 Executor Class Super Star Destroyers, the galaxy gun, The Eclipse, The Conqueror, The Sun Crusher and the World Devastator and many more. and thats just Superweapons

BOI IF ITS MENTIONED IN CANNON, THAT MEANS IT EXISTS IN THE CANNON UNIVERSE AND WHEN DO WE HEAR ABOUT THE SUN CRUSHER? NOT ONCE! WHEN DO WE HEAR ABOUT THE WORLD DEVISTATOR? NOT ONCE!! AND WHEN DO WE HEAR ABOUTH THE ECLIPSE!?! NOT. ONCE. SO GET IT STRAIGHT NEXT TIME!!!!
Boi are you dumb? i mentioned if we go into legends territory the empire would have the Sun crusher ect because they exist in legends. "BOI IF ITS MENTIONED IN CANNON, THAT MEANS IT EXISTS IN THE CANNON UNIVERSE " actually no it does not many things that are in legends may have a counterpart with the same name but that does not mean it's the same thing (See the hammerhead which looks different and is a corvette instead of a cruiser in canon)

Oh and also the only ships that were mentioned in Canon was the Mandator and it was just one line in one book where it was said that "a capital ship would have to be at least the size of the Mandator-class to supply power for a planet-killing superlaser." It just tell us that there is a ship named Mandator thats huge

Even with current canon, I believe the Empire would win because
A: The Empire inherited all the Republic ships and kept all standing Venators (with their superior fighter compliment)
B: Has more troopers that may not be as good as clone troopers, but have better vehicles and probably a large number advantage.
C: Their capital ship designers were like, "What would make these ships better?....Guns, a hell load of more guns!" To sum that up, every single Imperial capital ship outguns a Venator and even a VSD (which in canon there were very few, and in legends there were a lot. Keep in mind though, that VSD-1s are slow as ♥♥♥♥.)
D: If we go over the Mandator (which is legends because ♥♥♥♥ Disney) the Empire has multiple SSD classes in use, along with more Mandator classes then the Republic had.

All in all, the Empire would win easily just due to its enormity if not anything else.
Neither would win. If the Republic were to defeat the Empire, then they would effectively wipe out their own future. If the Empire were to triumph, the resulting temporal paradox from eliminating its past self would devastate the entire galaxy.

Not if there is a multiverse.

Not exactly true. I'd vote the Republic winning just due to the fact that they have better fighters and bombers. Plus with thousands of venators carrying 450+ starfighters each they would completely overrun the Empires forces. In Rogue One it just took 3 Y-Wings to take out an Imperial Star Destroyer! Also, the Venator would not be like a WWII carrier. It has superior fighters and superior number of fighters to that of a victory class.
" It has superior fighters and superior number of fighters to that of a victory class." Yes because its a carrier. What you are doing is basically saying "the Lexington class has more planes than the bismark" of course because that's what it was build for.

And for your Y-Wing example have you seen the clone wars? The Venator lost almost in every battle even if against Munificent class Frigates. Now how many times were Star Destroyers destroyed without some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ movie magic *cough* a small ship pushing an ISD *cough* And if the Empire is facing lets say 3 Venator SD's (3 because we've rarely seen more used by the Republic in one battle except the Battle over Coruscant but even there the Republic only fielded 20 Venator SD's) the Empire would field 2 or even 3 times the number in ISD's plus support craft

Edit: And also Executor Class Star Dreadnought which can field thousands of Tie Fighters
The venator is the clone wars tv show has been seen to take down 5 munificents alone without its star fighter support which is pretty good
If we are talking about the republic during the clone wars era, I think the republic would win because if their near limitless supply of clones. Also I think clonetroopers are superior to storm troopers, clone troopers are trained to be soldiers from the moment they are born.

We know the Empire has an obsession with making their ships as gigantic as possible (Death Star, Executor, Eclipse etc.) but as the movies have shown us, all that massive weaponry doesn't do much against small and agile fighters/bombers. That's how the Executor got taken out in The Return of the Jedi, a single fighter crashed in it's bridge. That's also the reason huge dreadnoughts and battleships are no longer being used in real life, fighters/bombers made them obsolete, this was made abundently clear during WW2 (look up the Yamato).

Carriers > battleships/dreadnoughts any day, both in fiction and real life.

As for the New Republic from the current trilogy, the Empire would win hands down.
All the New Republic had was a small fleet orbiting Hosnian Prime which was lost when Starkiller was used. Something that still pissed me off because I was expecting TLJ to cover a gigantic intergalactic war between 2 super powers. Yes they lost a planetary system, so what? It's the Republic, they should've had hundreds if not thousands of planets. What about the weapon factories of Balmorra? The shipyards of Corellia? Nothing? Ugh....

The best depiction of a Republic vs Empire conflict in my opinion, is in the game The Old Republic, but it's a fight were force users are widely used (especially since the Rule of 2 didn't exist yet) so that would exclude it from this discussion.
