There are multiple options. Which modification did you download?

Erm right click on the game > go to properties > enter E.G. STEAMMOD=1129810972 for Republic At War mod. Usually for most if not all the mods you can just look through the description it should say something like "STEAMMOD= " and then a bunch of numbers after the =.

If you need the simplest way you will have a mods folder in the options menu of the game usually. Pick the mod you want and it shall restart the game in the new mod. Sometimes a mod you just chose won't download till you run the game once. Can be annoying to do again and again. The previously mentioned solutions are easier over the long run
how did you know that i downloaded that one? the command did nothing however.

then try setting this into your Empire at War launch options Modpath=..\..\..\workshop\content\32470\1129810972
no effect. it would really help to know which version of the game it uses so that i do not have to start both regular and forces of corruption.

It uses Forces of Corruption.

good to know as it saves me the trouble of starting both but, i am still not closer to finding out how to start the mod.

As he said you could start Forces of Corruption and then go into options and then mods. There you should see every mod or workshop object installed. select republic at war and let the game restart with the mod.

that enabled me to start it but then the game crashed.

Amazing. To be honest I am using Desktop Shortcuts for my mods but I know at the beginning where I used this Mods option inside the options menu I had to do the same thing multiple times. When I selected the mod it didn't restart. It just closed. After the second try it worked.

it turned out that i had not downloaded all of the data files(just the core and not the mod itself).
Yoljot Aug 10, 2018 @ 12:38pm
"The Core"? Did you download a 1 credit 1 second mod?

i might have but i never used it.

Yeah that happens. I just keep starting the game up and trying to select the mod until it eventually works.
