How to Play Game Without Disc + Add to Steam

I've been looking to play this game again, but I would rather not repurchase it if I can help it. I have a legal physical copy of the game, but my current computer has no disc drive.

I can't add the CD key to Steam for either Empire at War or Forces of Corruption. I installed the game onto a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ old laptop and transferred the files for both games onto my main computer, but the game is still asking for a CD key.

Is there a way to claim ownership of the game on Steam and install a digital copy or can I work around the disc requirement?

Nope, you have to buy the new game. There is a "cracked" version that will run without the disc, but it will not work with the multiplayer update.

have you tried putting your disk files into an .iso file (for private use)

Sorry, as this is 2 years later, but i have backed up an iso of my disk, and an anti piracy program stops the game from launching, if you dont have the original disk.
