Difference between EaW and FoC?

Is there any difference between these games expect the new units etc. Or should i play only the FoC? (new here)

EaW is the base game with 2 campaigns (better than the FoC's singleplayer IMO) and 2 factions, Rebels and Empire. FoC adds a 3rd campaign and 3rd faction which some people hate. FoC also adds new maps, units, and a corruption mechanic for the new faction.

Some people prefer EaW to FoC. I personally prefer unmodded EaW over unmodded FoC, but FoC has the best mods. So to answer your question directly, I'd suggest play EaW's campaigns first, then hop into FoC's campaign, then start downloading mods and go nuts.
