Who do I kill to go to the next era?!?!? (thrawns revenge mod)

i'm the empire of the hand. I got a nice fleet going and all. two SSD's and at least a dozen imperial II class star destroyers. But I feel like this fleet would become INVINCIBLE if I had the eclipse. So what I dont get is how do I go to the next era?? I know you have to kill the faction leaders but....who do I kill? I'm killing hero after hero and still no era! Who in the new republic and the other empire faction (blue) do I need to kill in order to move on?? I dont get it!

No, you don't have to kill anything. If you prefer to play in another era, then you can kill off your leader, but there's not a separate tech tree you're trying to work up or something like that. There's no traditional tech tree, again, it's a story mechanism.

I just want the eclipse. So I kill isard and then Thrawn and ill get Palpatine?

Oh ok thanks I didnt know that. But surprisingly Palpatines ship is ALOT weaker then a SSD. I thought it was supposed to have strong shields and a nearly inpenetrable hull. So I thought it would at least have double the shield then the SSD and an easy to destroy hull but it was pretty weak. If you dont mind me asking another question was it for balance purposes since it already has a mini death star laser that can one shot anything

The Sovereign class SSD was inferior to an Executor class SSD even lore wise if it wasn't for the superlaser. The advantage the Sovereign has is the fact that you can delete a target from battle, even an opposing Executor, the NR get the Lusankya in era 3, but the Eclipse at least (Palpatines personal Sovereign) can one shot the Lusankya. If you don't know what the Lusankya is, remember the Executor that Isard had?... yea... that... that was the Lusankya...

Another main advantage the Imperial Remnant get in the third era, is the Praetor II class, a larger/stronger ship than an ISD II, while still being smaller than an Executor. If you look at the page on the thrawns revenge wiki, it explains that groups of four Praetor II battle cruisers have been known to engage SSDs. I can speak from personal experience, 4 Praetors beats an Executor, you may lose one, but the Praetor is spammable, and is easily the largest/strongest non SSD in the mod. The Pentastar Alignment also get Praetor II, but it's available to them from the start of the game, so be careful against them :)

Trust me I had my fair share of encounters with Praetor II's....believe me they are spammed alot. But I had a one on one with an executor class and a praetor. The praetor took a quarter of the shields but the executor class was still superior in shielding and firepower. But if there were more then one maybe at least 3 then the results would be different. Considering the praetor already has good shielding the executor still takes time draining it so by then maybe half the shield wowuld be down so they are a force to be reckoned with. Hate them. I started a campain with the new republic and there is nothing I can do about them. But I managed to take down 2 ssd's. The moff and the inquisitor. With the help of ion cannons of course.
