The multiplayer is alive and well. No third party stuff required. However servers are somewhat unstable, much worse with FOC.

Yeah. FOC is definitely somewhat harder to get a game going because many FOC players just mod their game. EAW games are definitely easier to start up. FOC can work, though.

Im just interested in a nice Star Wars RTS multiplayer game! I dont care too much about FOC and stuff, as long there are matches for EAW

There's definitely matches, though FOC ones are more often. Hosting one yourself is pretty easy, and a bit of patience can definitely find you players.

I've played 4 matches, 2 first matches crashed, the other 2 worked, so as of now, statistically for me it's 50% crash rate. We'll see if it improves over time...

If you bought it for the multiplayer then theres no hope for enjoyment here when basically every mod is designed for mainly singleplayer.
