STAR WARS™ Empire at War: Gold Pack

STAR WARS™ Empire at War: Gold Pack

How to: Republic at War Multiplayer Skirmish
Hey everyone, just posting here the way myself and several others have successfully gotten Republic at War for Forces of Corruption to work on multiplayer.

Note: This requires the Republic at War Installer, and Gameranger.

First, you should delete your Empire at War Forces of Corruption Data folder and then Validate the integrity of game files (cache) through Steam. This will redownload a fresh clean Data folder.

Once that's done, you launch the game once in order to make sure everything is there, only once this is done should you then run the Republic at War installer.

Once the installer has finished downloading its files you will have a Mods folder in your Empire at War Corruption directory, in there will be Republic at War and inside there a Data folder.

If you want to play the base game again without redownloading the data folder you should back it up before you replace it with your RaW data folder.

So, you take the RaW data folder and move it into your Corruption folder, you will be asked to merge the Data folders, to which you say yes to everything. Once that is done, you (and the person you intend to play with) need to go into the Data folder, into XML and check to see if you have this file: GRAPHICDETAILS.xml

If neither of you have it, it should run. If one of you have it they should send the file to the other person. (I do not know why some people get the files and others do not).

However, once this is all done, your Data folder should be 5,220,265,528 bytes in size if you have the GRAPHICDETAILS.xml file.

Launch the game first through steam to ensure that RaW is loading before attempting to load up in multiplayer.

To actually run the multiplayer, I would recommend Gameranger as the alternative hosting system I personally have had the most success with. Host a lobby, get the people you intend to play with in, load up, and hope it works.

I hope this has been of help to people, I personally have noted the lack of a guide, and I have gotten it to work this way. Enjoy!
