Using mods through Steam???

Hey so i can't for the life of me make mods work with the steam version and i have no idea why.

Let's say i want to play Phoenix Rising, which installation process is as simple as "move folder to mods folder" which the readme specifies as to be at "\LucasArts\Star wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption\mods" but which it of course isn't because we're using steam, so it's most likely at "SteamApps\common\Star Wars Empire at War\corruption" right?
So you make a Mods folder in /corruption and chuck it in there.
Then you edit the launch properties of the shortcut from "D:\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption\swfoc.exe" to "D:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Star Wars Empire at War\corruption\swfoc.exe" and set the "Start In" to the same path, right???

of course the MODPATH is Mods\phoenix_rising etc

but it doesn't work. no mods work. z3r0x, PR, thrawns revenge, republic at war, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nothing works!!! what the hell am i doing wrong???

That guide may or may not help.

File structure will still be pretty much the same, just create a mod folder in the corruption folder.
Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars Empire at War\corruption\mods

Then you also don't edit the launch properties of a shortcut. Steam handles the .exe files differently for some reason. You right click on the game on your library, go to properties, and then click the set launch options button and enter the modpath thing. Then launch the game through the steam window, not a shortcut.

oooohhh that makes sense. currently reinstalling as i overwrote the original game files with the mod files in a hissy fit, but i'll let you know if it works out when i'm done

well, no it's not at all working. it won't launch FoC... i see theres some issue with foc and win7 so i found some old patch for that, gonna test it now

i formatted my computer a while back so i haven't tried it since, but if memory serves me right, i did manage to get a mod working, but i'm not sure tbh. can't remember pal

I think you need to replace the Data with the mod you downloaded manually. Remember to save your vanilla Data first just in case.

I'm also wanting to play EAW again & it's different now with Steam.
And because it's "Gold" version..
~Worse case scenrio i'll just install original discs.
