The things are monsters and they're cheap for what they are. Get some good coal and electricity production and you can pump them out like a factory line.
It's disgusting.
Also, in doubt, use Wolverine, those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s are my favourites.
On a side note, I don't know why you would ever want a scout unit to be level 5. Scouts shouldn't be higher than level 3.
My best units are:
Level I: Armadillo + Snail, the best lvl I cheapest tank I made.
Chameleon + Bat Makes the BEST ever lvl I explorer
Level II: Poison Frog + Wolverine Makes one of the best ranged combinations, with a nice self-defense
Mayan Tapir + Zebra Some of the most balanced Inmune creatures
Level III: Armadillo + Hippopotamus My best lvl III tank
Pistol Shrimp + Lionless Pretty speed pack hunting ranged unit with barrier destroy
Level IV: Behemoth + Shark Whale Am continuing thinking this is the cheapest and effectiviest lvl IV tank.
Narwhal + Firefly My best lvl IV flyer and anti-range unit
Level V: Crocodile + Gorilla Continuing beign some of the best lvl V creatures
Narwhal + Tiger Some of my best anti-tank creature, very cheap and effective
