Game refuses to start on Windows 10
Just installed it for the first time from Steam five minutes aog. I tried starting the game from steam, running it as administrator directly as well. Shows a popup saying 'please wait...' and then a windows dialog box shows up saying the game has stopped working. Pretty sure quite a few of you might have faced this. Any solutions?

Output of my warning.log file, if it helps you:

Have you tried verifying the game cache? A similar thing happened to me with a game I had never played before and over 5000 files ended up failing to validate.

Verified the game cache. All OK with it as well. No errors.

Tried deleting the game and installing it again. Same problem persists. Deleted the profile folder, disabled cloud upload. At this point I'm pretty much convinced that I'm missing something trivial. Any help would be appreciated.

Could you provide a screenshot?

Diagnostic Ideas:

Run Compatibility Troubleshooter
Right click your launcher -> Properties -> Compatibility -> "Run compatibility Troublshooter".

Run Impossible Creatures in Windowed Mode
Use the setup utility provided via the IC steam download.

Update DirectX
Go ahead and make sure you're up to date with all of your windows updates manually.

Have you tried activating Direct Play for Windows 10 (See FAQ thread)? The first time i launched IC on Win10 it asked me to enable it - so it might be worth a try.

Windows 10 has its quirks. I've got it and IC runs just fineee. Have you installed the latest drivers?
