[SOLVED] Problem: menu keeps popping up (PC)

I am attempting to get the last achievement (finishing the game withing 3 hours) on PC and am facing the following huge problem:

The damn menu on the bottom keeps popping up even when your mouse pointer is still in the "game section" of the screen. Thus, it is almost impossible to run around as the menu blocks some pathes on which I cannot click now, or to pick up items that happen to be in said screen section (like the paper at Wally's at the beginning of the game).

PLEASE, is there a known solution to this? it is driving me crazy and is making it impossible to enjoy the game. And all tips I found on Google were for the mobile device version of the game.

P.S. I did not have that problem back when I bought the game in 2010 and played it on Windows XP (using Windows 7 now).

Solution

You can deactivate the Menu altogether and only use the Mouse Buttons and the keyboard shortcuts instead.

To do so, simply find the Settings.ini in C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\LucasArts\Monkey Island 2 Special Edition\ and set: VerbToolbar=0

This seems to be the only solution. I wish they's repair the menu so it would pop up only if your mouse pointer hovers above the black bar at the bottom. :summerskull:

You might have the game not set to full screen in the game settings, if you go into settings and ensure its on full screen you shouldnt have a problem with the menue poping up :)
