I don't agree on the "too hard" part.
I played it with my sister when i was around 11/12 or something around that and we both managed to solve everything on our own.
The only part where we really got stuck, was the the last puzzle where we couldn't find out how to get one ingredient for the voodoo doll, solved that just by trying everything out ^^
I just made it in time to finish a 3 hour run after a veeeery long Monkey Island break, but I still remembered some of the meaner riddles ;)
Good fun though.
This is why Raps was so hard for me...
It took me ages to find the ash-to-life item on the shelf at the voodoo lady's place. It requires a couple clicks and I just didn't notice it for ages. The other issue was the book of pirate quotes that you have to read... I accidentally returned the book to the library without reading it. As a result, the game never let me look into Raps coffin. I ultimately started a new game not knowing I screwed that up and realized it later.
All of the others I got no problem. Rum Rogers was the most fun, imo.
I beat the door thing by brute force if you can believe it, only took a few hours ;). Same went for the pirate treasure quest in MI 1. I'd just wander the woods aimlessly until I found it, it was years later I noticed the map actually took you there.
For some reason i found that easy, i think i was interested in all the names, and the book i read as soon as i found it, and just remembered. Rum Rogers was pretty fun yeah.
Lol the door thing i just remember getting right away, not sure how. The woods in MI1 was a little confusing, even though they did give you a map with exact instructions. Similar to the Lechuck's maze in MI2.
Anyone remember in the original MI2 when there was a "Lite" mode that when you were hanging with Wally (literally) on the easy mode you didn't have to spit on the pans but rather you just had to ask Wally, and then he'd pee on the flame while you closed your eyes?
