Leaving the cheese squiggles, stick and string [lite spoilers]
So... I played Monkey 2 when it came out for the Amiga (yeah I'm old) and this is the first time I've used the cheese squiggles, the stick and string to bait the trap AFTER already capturing the rat. I figured I didn't want them in my inventory anymore but I can't remember if those items are ever needed again.

I'm now on part 2 without the squiggles, the stick or the string and now I'm wondering if perhaps I shouldn't have left them.

I have this vague memory of always carrying around some items to the end of the game which are never used again, so this time I thought I'd try and reduce the number of inventory items because it can get quite full and annoying.

Playing with original VGA graphics. As it should be.

No dead ends in a Lucasarts game. Usually. iirc you don't need any of those items anywhere else, but even if I'm wrong, you could still go back and get them. You'll have to go back to Scabb eventually anyway.

Oh yeah, I forgot you could go back! It's been a while!

I believe- you won't need any of those items anymore after the map puzzle. At first, I thought you needed the string but just remembered there is a replacement / substitute provided later on in the game.
