Halo Online is, basically, Halo 3 multiplayer. with Forge also available in the game. The original game has been shut down, but it can still be played using ElDewrito, which is basically just an alternative name for Halo Online because of the original project being shut down.

ElDewrito is still being updated by its developers, and mods are available to enhance your experience making it more like Halo 3, Halo ODST, or Halo Reach.

It is free to download and play. It has 10 dedicated servers, plus you can host your own, private or public.The player base, at the current time before ElDewritos next update, is small, but not too small to where the game is unenjoyable. There are often up to +40 players playing, this is because most people either don't know about the game or don't want to go through all the trouble of downloading.

Classic Halo 3 Infection Gamemodes such as Fatkid, Trash Compacter, Ice Cream Man, and GRIFBALL can all be hosted by players for everyone to play, if you download Flatgrass_09 and Custom Games Starter Pack for Halo Online.

There are 10 dedicated servers for players to join and play, and, if you'd prefer, you can host a public server for people to join you, or host a private server for just you and your friends.

There are often up to 40 players playing, at this point in time before ElDewrito 0.6.

ElDewrito 0.6 will be a massive update where duel weilding, map voting, new Forge items, etc. will be added, so the playerbase may massively increase once the update comes out, but as I said the playerbase right now is not too small to where the game is unenjoyable. Servers often have up to 10-16 players playing so the game is very much playable.

On my profile there is a link, click on Installation Guide. It'll show you how to install ElDewrito.
To play the game, all you need is ElDewrito. However, if you wish to play Custom Games like Grifball. you will need to Install Flatgrass_09 and Custom Games Starter Pack. Install Flatgrass_09 first.

On my profile I have several links. They all lead to the Reddit pages where you download everything and they should all explain how to install. It is all very simple.

FMM is optional, it is a mod manager that will allow you to install mods easily, such as Halo 3 HUD, Halo Reach HUD, Halo ODST HUD, Halo 3 Weapon models, Halo 3 Armor, Grunt Birthday Party, Halo 3 Weapon sounds, etc.

To put it simply, for the FULL experience, you will want to download ElDewrito, Flatgrass_09, and then Custom Games Starter Pack. But all you need, in order to play, is ElDewrito.

Halo Combat Evolved and Halo 2 were released for PC, but something changed where they wanted it to be Xbox exclusive. Could've maybe had something to do with the console wars, since Xbox was number 1 at the time with Halo 2 making Xbox big, and Halo 3 making Xbox 360 big.
