If you have a Beacon with fuel in it, you don't need to worry about your campfire. This is used as a temporary way to claim your first bit a of land on a new world.
Your beacon should be fuelled for 4 weeks with the basic beacon fuel, so no need to log in every day to check on your things.
What I really like is the simplicy of the system. I questioned the need for campfires being left in, but can see from the youtube videos that leaving that part in along with it's tutorial was a really good thing. The only constructive critism I have is maybe make the timer label on the campfire twice as big?
Iron is supposed to be rare on starter worlds. It's not a problem. You need to travel to a Rugged World.
