Can't find iron... literally anywhere.
Seriously, I can't find it. I've looked in every cave, dug holes in stone even, and can't find one single iron ore. I'm probably doing something wrong, knowing me. So exactly where on any of the earths in Boundless can I find Iron?

What planet/moon are you on?

Solum.

At the moment, Iron is generally easier to find in grass and tree type regions.

Oh that explains why I couldn't find any in that barren-looking region...

I went to greener areas after reading this thread and still can't find iron on Solum after digging and digging. I thought I needed to go deeper, and then I found silver, but no iron.

Have you tried digging in mountains?

Solum. I've tried digging extensively in the mountains, and after following the copper and coal veins I found caves with fossils, and then further down silver, but no iron. I tried the hills in greener areas to see if iron only happened in that sort of terrain type, but I'm not finding anything but copper and coal.

I actually found a lot of iron deep in ice biomes after a bit of exploring (Along with an Ancient Tech Component, WOOT!), but I find it a lot less common in greener areas.

I'll try ice next!

In any particular substrate?

It is becoming frustrating I'm at miner rank 24 and like the people in this post I've tried all over, I've found lots of coal, fair amounts of copper, silver and gold but only a couple of deposits of iron.

Thank You

I had a lot more luck trying mountains in icy biomes, around the same levels where coal and copper are common. Also, instead of just following the seam closely, I mined a good area around copper and iron finds and found more iron veins hidden very close by.

so iron deposit rich world would make a good settlement location
