Try editing the local settings file:
C:\Users\#username#\Appdata\Roaming\LucasArts\LEGOIndianaJones2\pcconfig.txt
All the other Lego games config files are either mostly in Roaming and some in Local under LucasArts, WarnerBros.InteractiveEntertainment, WBGames, ttales, DisneyInteractiveStudios
Make sure you have the refresh rate at 60Hz, and you can set your screen resolution and window size here too (same values for both)
Also set your Windows sound to 16Bit44100Hz in:
StartMenu\Settings\System\Sound\DeviceProperties\AdditionalDeviceProperties\Advanced
and use the drop-down menu
(Some headphones don't have the lower options and you may have to use speakers.)
Any higher specs tend to cause stuttering, freezes and black-screen with the older Lego games.
It's worth making sure your graphics card (NVidia, etc) isn't trying to increase the framerate too in their Settings.
There's also the option to run the game in compatibility mode and as Administrator if you go to Properties in the Library's exe. file for the game. There's also a troubleshooter in this section which, although very basic, has helped me out with Lego start-up problems for a couple of games.
Hope this solves your problem :)
