I always imagined that all the tools you purchase are also sold by the guy that sold you the house. It's basically an in built system. You get the house with the shed and the whole computer setup. "Oh you need a lamp? Go and get me 25 stones, they are worth a dollar each." Really? Obviously a scam! So of course everything is rigged to stop working when it's "convenient" for the seller. **Insert Admiral Akbar Meme**
That's at least my head canon. :D
It feels like a cop out because we were expecting it to go deeper than the rats. It especially sucks that saving the teleport does nothing as well.
There's just the hole and nothing else, it is a 5$ game with nothing special to remember, beside a disappointing taste in your mouth.
This game could be big like Terraria.
Or go again just so i can collect some trophies ?
No thanks.
Still fun game, long story short its too short.
Damn u 100 % right.
The biggest issue I personally have is that we have games, currently existing, that are this exact game (just not in first person) that are free and comparably better. And heck even the one that isnt free, is better.
Were both done by a team? Yea likely. Is it impressive the dev has made this one all on their own? Def! And all that in such a short time span on holiday? Cool! But there is a price tag attached and a price tag brings expectations. And for as little there is to do in the game, it offers little to no replayvalue.
The ending in turn feels like it was just kinda plopped onto the game as "A Game needs an ending". When this kinda game could have lended it self to far more open ended scenarios of digging holes for more cash, more upgrades and just overall more fun.
The way it is right now its just a case of "Dig down" - "Upgrade your tools to max which is 4-5 upgrades each" - "Find Loot and treasure you didnt think would be there." - "Find the Mole lair twist." - "Die."
It feels like a punch in the face. Thats the best way I can describe it. Not even an intentional one. But it does feel like one. You spend all that time to build yourself up and then the game just kills you. Thats like as if I played City Skylines and on Day 100 the game just goes "lmao your progress is cute, Ima just delete your save file".

To add to this as I forgot: By todays standards, 1 buck = 1 hour of playtime. If I cant get at least that out of a game I paid 1 buck for, that game is genuinely nto worth my time nor should it be anyones time. Considering my playtime and the price I paid? Thats why Im torn. Cause I played for half the amount I paid for. And I enjoyed that time thoroughly. But now Im just supposed to do the same thing again, with the same ending again, with the same hole again.
So I paid 5 bucks for a 2.5 bucks experience (some say it can be even shorter) that is now just gonna loop in the very same environment. The very same hole. The very same upgrades. The very same moles. The very same ending.
Yea idk...
The ending plays into the replayability. Moles own the van, and they sell the house repeatedly to trap new adventurers like us. A short walk(or Sprint) at the end creates narrative that just wouldnt be. I actually love the idea of the new content enticing multiple playthroughs.
Each time we play through, it's a new adventurer for the moles to consider and digest. ;)
