Does it run on a weaker PC?
I'm curious if it would work on my system, which has an i3-3220 processor, an NVIDIA GT 640 1GB, and 8GB of RAM. Would it run, or is it hopeless?

That sounds a bit too weak. You could give it a try ofc, but I think it wont work properly.

I have a I5-4440 a NVIDIA GTX 1660 and 8 GB of RAM, and the performance is already sometimes pretty bad, still playable but barely. So I think your specs are definitely way too low to play this.

i5 3rd gen, rtx570, 16b ram ... plays fine here
