Here's how I did it.
-focus on digging down. Mine shafts and items waste time. You can come back for them after you've gotten the achievement. I got one mine shaft as it was right next to the hole and was partially open. Heading to one is a waste of time.
-shovel upgrade takes priority.
-upgrade battery as needed
-jet pack upgrade is great for leaving faster
-you'll need few upgrades for item carry limit
Just dig straight down and upgrade as necessary. Save and exit the game (there is no quit to menu right now) if you die to the moles . When you laser focus, you'll find it easier than it seems. I thought it would be a pain to get going into this achievement.
Basically focus Shovel upgrades until you get the 1st Drill, then just dig down until you reach the cave. Ignore full inventory/low energy, since it doesn't matter when you actually get to the cave. (Obviously don't run out of energy before you get to the cave though or you'll die)
Battery is also important to get, and I got Inventory up till 15 slots. Jetpack is also important to get out of the hole quick.
When you start getting $100+ for selling and get your Shovel + Battery upgrade, buy at least one TNT immediately, so you'll run into a rock eventually. Always try to have one TNT to spare when going back into the hole. And when you have spare money, get more TNT, so you'll probably encounter more frequent rocks lower on.
Also, I tried to keep one light on me so I could light things up if it got too dark, but once you have the drill lights don't matter. I think I only used 3 or 4 lights on my 27min run, and mostly when I opened up into a resource pocket so I could grab some quick cash.
I set a 30min timer right when I started to know if I was wasting my time or not. At ~16min left, I was at a depth of like 25m. At 8min I just barely hit Plat/Diamond depth and got my drill later. 5min left I jumped into the hole for the last time with my drill to dig the last bit out and then sprint to the exit.
The most of your time is spend at the first 25m of depth, since things are worthless and your tools suck, lol. So just dig down and ignore any of the item trackers. Unless you run into the item by chance, they aren't worth it.
That's how I did it.
Managed it in 28min just snagging the first jetpack tier, went almost entirely for shovel upgrades after that, and only buying non-shovel upgrade stuff when it became necessary.
Essentially rushed making one big Terraria-style Hellivator.
The deeper you go, the better the loot too, so you can skip the early stuff entirely and just focus on getting down as fast as possible.
