Hydroneer is probably the best similar game. Except that one is much older and fleshed out.

Just digging is difficult, but somewhat in the veins I'd recommend:
- Deep Rock Galactic, especially with friends (just amazing)
- Digseum, quite different but also digging (very short)
- Core Keeper, a lot of digging, but basically Terraria in Zelda visuals
- Dome Keeper, definitely about digging and upgrading stuff
- Hydroneer, lets you build stuff and dig
- Enshrouded, less about digging, but has great building mechanics, with the stuff you dug out
- (Super) Motherload, 2d, similar themed, don't know if it's still supported
oki so like for anyone else also wondering of similar games, ive just sank over 30 hrs into orebound after playing this wonderful lil coffee priced game, and if you like the idea of being a smol dwarf while everything around you is larger than life, digging/terraformation just like in a game about digging a hole, and are also into automation games/steampunk aesthetics, then just as the other commentor mentioned, Orebound may very well suit you well!.
hydroneer is also pretty fun, but honestly orebound has got to be my new fave!

If you just want to dig, I'd say Out of Ore is the game for you. No headache-inducing factory logistics, no combat, no death, just dig a really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ big hole.

-Orebound and Out of Ore have been wishlisted, although not sure abt Out of ore controlling the vehicles seem pretty tedious;
-hydroneer isn't really about digging id say
-deep rock ive played too much but theres too much fighting, no real digging its more about scraping the sides the cave and having no friends solo gets a little frustrating

should also mention the games im lookin for have similarities with minecraft's caveing, and a blockland "endless mining" server, which i think roblox has as well from the quickest google search possible
while it isn't block like, in orebound you are very much encouraged to do some spelunkying/caving. with some peoplele making full bases underground, others opting above ground. i feel like if you enjoyed living in caves in mine craft and are partial to a lil automation you will enjoy orebound imo! it has a couple of teething issues being an early access game, (slow saving, seed generation beign a lil janky at times, things not always lining up when placing them etc) but its definitely got some serious replay ability in the sandbox/crafting/cavedigging etc avenues!

Not exactly only about digging, but Astroneer is very nice. You will have to take care of survival elements, but you can sidestep them a bit to just dig to your hearts content.

Only game that gave me exact same feeling is digging in 7 days to die. The game isnt about digging obviously its about surviving zombies. but i spent 5-6 hours straight just mining ore without stopping. You can have tunnels going for miles and an underground bases etc

But really its really same feeling you have pickaxe and you dig rock + ore and feel like a dwarf then turn around 4 hours have passed.

Orebound is the closest thing but its a year away from being good.

A game I would recommend is Out of Ore. Its also made by 1 dev and the games been out since 2022. Its been improved a lot since release. Ive been making episode series on the game recently and have been enjoying it A LOT! Sure there is heavy machinery involved but it just feel soo satisfying. Im not gonna post the video here but you can find me on Youtube by the name of MistaH1N1. The video, if you want to watch, is titled "2 Year Progress, What Has Changed? | 2 Year Anniversary | Out of Ore | Ep 9". You can dig, blast, set up washplants, grade, smoothen, pave roads and so on. Its much better than the very dated looking Gold Rush game too.
