Why does this game ask for firewall access?
Just curious.

Yeah me neither, but it was weird.

So still no explanation for firewall access request of a single player game...

Lots of UE games does that, not sure why though.

Talos 2 did iirc (most recent one I can remember), but apparently it could be dependant on how you've configured your network.

Had the similar issue too, with the internet notif, posted it here too. like why would an offline game need internet access. Found some other interesting things of note during my fun exploration of the files. Certain programs crash if it tries to connect to the game.

So A single player game with online needs and anti cheat.

I'm pretty sure it's on by default for unity stuff unless developers turn it off, and indie developers often don't

This game is made in Unreal
It's because they've published a development build (for some reason). Development builds try to connect to a debugger, which requires firewall access.

I am digging a hole.
As a general advice: never allow traffic initiated from a locally installed application unless you are sure it should do that. Always deny. Test. If the application does not work as expected, it is most likely not well coded - or a fraud. Better deinstall and get a refund than endanger your system. Be a bit paranoid and wait for further comments.
