Everyone has a tendency to feel mild discomfort when looking at extreme examples but everything beyond that is just searching for excuses.
False, it is a true phobia since 2005.
That sounds as if it could work. It also sounds as if it makes the game harder to play, if everything is evenly lit. I'm not sure if we can implement something like that, but the solution in general could work. Also reducing the fidelity of the holes, but it sounds like a wild challenge overall.
It is not officially recognized as a mental disorder. That said, this game can't trigger it, because it isn't a fear of holes. It is a fear of small holes clustered closely together. What it looks like is either the OP posted this for attention, or if they really suffer from this unrecognized phobia, then this just isn't a game they would even be interested in playing.
*What is trypophobia?
Trypophobia has been considered a medical phobia since 2005. It is characterized by an anxious reaction to the sight of a succession of small holes such as bees' nests, lotus heads with their seeds, or slabs of puffed chocolate. Sufferers may experience anxiety, itching, goose bumps or even nausea.*
Where did what you copy and pasted come from? Because I can't find your source and everything else still says it is not officially recognized, but will still be diagnosed if a patient expresses enough fear. Which is a weird way to approach a mental disorder.
