I keep hitting things trying to get Long Fall

The whole area is littered wit small floating pieces. It's almost impossible to fall all the way down without smacking to death on one or two float pixels. And even the, I can't get it above 3.9.

This one is really infuriating since it's so hard to jet pack near enough to get rid of these tiny things. How do you do this?

Edit; nevermind. I finally did it. Took way too long to clear everything out, but oh well.
