FPS drop issue
Alright I don't normally do this but now this has become unbearable. I just bought this game on steam during the sale and it has an annoying issue... In the menus and during the game, every 15 seconds or so, the game will freeze/speed up four times in succession then return back to normal (which runs perfectly otherwise). I have tried just about everything to get it to stop including: Using an outside program to window it, exiting every non vital process, disabling DEP, defraging hard drive, verifying files, changing in game settings, changing compatibility settings, checking heat levels, among others. I don't understand why it is doing this; of course this game also has to have lousy support from the developer. To help things along I'll post my specs:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 6700
Memory: 4 GB Corsair Dominator
GPU: EVGA 9800 GT 1 GB Memory
HD: 1 TB SATA
Motherboard: ASUS P5Q-EM DO
PSU: Corsair 700 Watt supply
OS: Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit

And yes I know some of my components are dated.

Same here, running it on a 1070. The Force awakens has the same issue, btw. Very annoying.

My computer is a piece I crap and I have no issue at all

I found the solution to the problem. It was a Physics settings (I think that Nvidia spells it differently but you should know what I'm referring to) The Nvidia physics settings had defaulted to the CPU instead of the GPU... once I changed that in the Nvidia control panel (which you get to by right clicking on the desktop and choosing Nvidia control panel) was able to solve this problem

Yo peeps...let me know if it worked. I was so psyched that I might have helped you all with this issue so I keep checking these forums...I suffer from low self worth...I need the affirmation...please people, praise me! J/k, but seriously, let me know if it worked for you, as well.

It didn't work for me, it should be something different because the game worked fine on the first time that I played it but afterwards its just awful.
PinketyDrinkety1 2016 年 8 月 17 日 下午 7:28
It happens to me too ocasionally. No idea why. I have the xbox version of the game and it never happens on there. I run the game fine at 60fps, then it randomly drops to literally 0fps for like 15 seconds, then goes back to normal.

It worked for like 4 hours. Then freaking nvidia had a new driver (yesterday 8/17/16)...and poof...none of the Legos work anymore--even with the Physx settings correct. It is stalling in a different manner now, however. It's just a combination of settings. I noticed the driver update changed the default on the Physx settings...it had to have changed another setting that causes it. This is a solvable issue...Legos could solve this issue easily if they (or Steam) supported their products...just a simple settings issue...doesn't even require new code....It's just not a "geforce experience" supported title (you know how some titles can "optimize" right from Geforce Experience's software)...all this does is create the perfect combination of settings. If they could just set that up, we'd all be less frustrated. Sorry it didn't work, guys. For what it's worth, mine isn't working anymore either. Sigh.

Try lowering the resolution. I had this problem when I first bought it, but after messing around in the settings I eventually fixed it.

Okay, I have used it for 2 days without any skipping whatsoever. Hate to say it, but it seems most people have nvidia cards like me. On the latest install, I did something I usually don't do, I chose the option for a "clean install" (meaning all changes to settings/etc are discarded and a clean install is made instead). It fixed my skipping problem. I have 4 monitors and I have two of them running off the integrated intel and I have two running off the nvidia card. As a result, I kinda "tinkered" with a lot of the BiOS and graphics card settings. This is not advisable, as I read in many places throughout the net, and as I have learned first hand. Anyway, a clean install fixed my problem. Hope it works for you guys too.
It's probably like whack-a-mole -- I haven't tried to watch my tai chi dvd on all 4 monitors at once yet...maybe that won't work now? Anyway, I don't want to know...for now, ignorance is bliss as my lego games (all of them used to skip, now none of them do) work! gle

I'm talking about the latest driver update (install). For anyone confused. Thanks.

Still having problems. I THINK (though I've thought before I had it corrected, but not so) it might be my controller!!! Okay, here's what just happened. I rebooted without my wireless Microsoft XBox controller activated. No stutter. I turned on my (wireless) controller while the game is running smoothly. Immediately a stutter. THEN it stuttered every so often, like before. I pick up my wireless receiver and put it right on the desk (inches from where my hands are holding the controller)...just played for about 10 minutes without any stutter. This corrected the problem WHILE THE GAME WAS PLAYING. I literally experienced it stutter and only moved the receiving device next to my controller without rebooting or reloading the game and it fixed it on the fly. SO, I'd like to know how many people out there with this problem are using this type of controller.

You should have read the entire thread. I mentioned my controller causing the stutter back in May 2015. It's the disconnecting and reconnecting that causes it.

That still doesn´t fix the whole issue since i don´t use a controller for this game, and still got those fps drops.
