Gamepad Controller not working?
I've played the LEGO LOTR game on steam with two xbox 360 wired controllers without issue, but I can't seem to get them to work for the LEGO Star Wars saga game. I know the controllers work, they operate just fine for other games but their inputs apparently aren't detected in Star Wars. I've tried to change the controller in the game, but it still doesn't recognize any xbox controller inputs, only the keyboard. Anybody have any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

In the program Steam, at the top left hand corner is "Steam". Under Steam, go to settings. In the pop up, on the left hand side go to Controller. On the right had side, choose General Controller Settings. A new pop up will show up. Select the controller type that you're using. For some reason this game won't let you use your controller unless Steam is set up for your controller.

Having the same issue in The Clone Wars.

WFM - thx

I have also found that if the XBox controller goes to sleep mid game (eg. toilet break), you need to dance with the game to get it back again...

1a. Press <| "back" on the controller for 3 seconds to get the SteamLink overlay
1b. Toggle the gamepad to MOUSE mode (with the gamepad<->mouse icon)
1c. Exit Steamlink overlay

2. Use the D-Pad to select "change controls for player 1"

3a. Press <| "back" on the controller for 3 seconds to get the SteamLink overlay
3b. Toggle the gamepad to GAMEPAD mode (with the gamepad<->mouse icon)
3c. Exit Steamlink overlay

4. Press any button to activate controller

5 : repeat step 1a,b,c
6. Use D-pad to save changes

7: repeat step 3a,b,c
8: use controller to return to game

...painful, but better than having to quit mid-level and relaunch the game :-/
I think most of these solutions are just for getting a controller to work, when the problem described by OP (and the problem I'm having) is that it won't detect a SECOND controller so you can play co-op with a friend on the same PC, right?
I have tried all kinds of things, and can not get the game to register the second controller for player 2. It just won't do it.
Does anyone have a solution for this please?
I am guessing that depends on your controllers a bit. I had 1 xbox 360 controller and 1 steelseries stratus duo. The stratus duo shows it supports 360 drivers in its properties menu. I was able to get the xbox one working with no changes in steam. However, I had to enable xbox controller support in steam as described above to force the stratus duo to identify as an xbox controller for the game. There was also an option in steam to enable generic gamepad support which may force the xbox controller to identify as the same type as your other gamepad?
