how to play online with another person?

Could someone help me how to get started on playing onlline together with another person on a laptop. Can TheComplete Saga be played this way at all? They are in the US and I am in Europe. I already bought the game. Do they need to register on steam and buy the game as well?

There is no online functionality in this game whatsoever. If there was, it would be listed as "Online Multiplayer" on the Steam store page.

Use parsec, it allows you to connect to someone elses pc and play local games.

I use Parsec, it allows for Local Co-Op online, and only one person needs to own the game (host pc)

Hey, so I know this is an old thread, and I'm sorry that I didn't find this sooner. BUT... I'm really invested in this now, and so if you and your son still want to play this game together, I'd love to help.

Why don't you just use Steam Remote Play Together? That's a thing now (though not back in 2016). Easy peasy. Online coop ceased to be an issue.

Op hasn't been online in over 400 days, son is now 4 years older... not sure if Lego coop is still high on their agenda :D
But don't get me wrong: very nice that you still tried to help out.

I used to play it with my dad, and i see your problem. maybe you should just play it side by side. It support multi-player. one using the WASD and the other using the arrows

could you tell me what feature to look for in a game to be able to play this way? could you recommend a lego game that would allow such play?

As far as I know, no LEGO games support this feature.

this game have steam remove play together, which indeed lets you play online co-op. In order to do this open the game, right click a friend on your friend list and invite to remote play. if you have a xbox controler he can use the keyboard, if not you both share the keys on keyboard. EDIT: they dont need to buy the game if you already own it. only one of you two will need to have the game to use steam remote play together.

what me and my friend did was use the dolphin emulator and play the game, then use this thing called netplay where we can play games online together like lego star wars and mario kart wii.
